Terms and Conditions and Release of Liability

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

By participating in any hockey events, training programs, or activities (collectively, "Activities") offered by Best Shift Hockey & Training, Minnesota Inline Hockey League, Minnesota Roller Hockey Association, and their respective owners, employees, investors, affiliates, contractors, volunteers, and representatives (collectively, the "Released Parties"), you ("Participant") agree to the following Terms and Conditions, including the Safety Waiver and Release of Liability.


1. Assumption of Risk

  • Participant acknowledges that hockey is an inherently dangerous activity that involves significant risks, including but not limited to serious bodily injury, permanent disability, paralysis, and death.
  • Participant voluntarily assumes all risks, known or unknown, associated with participation in the Activities.

2. Safety Guidelines

  • Participant agrees to adhere to all safety protocols, equipment requirements, and instructions provided by the Released Parties.
  • Participant acknowledges that failure to follow safety guidelines may result in removal from the Activities without refund.

3. Release and Waiver of Liability

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Participant hereby releases, discharges, and holds harmless the Released Parties from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any injury, illness, death, or property damage sustained in connection with the Activities, regardless of whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.
  • This waiver applies to any claim arising out of or related to transportation, facilities, equipment, or any other aspect of the Activities.

4. Indemnification

  • Participant agrees to indemnify and defend the Released Parties against any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) resulting from Participant's involvement in the Activities.

5. Medical Consent

  • Participant acknowledges and agrees that the Released Parties are not responsible for providing medical care or coverage.
  • In the event of a medical emergency, Participant authorizes the Released Parties to seek medical treatment on their behalf and agrees to assume all costs of such treatment.

6. Eligibility

  • Participant confirms they are physically fit, have no medical conditions that would preclude safe participation, and have consulted a physician if necessary.
  • If the Participant is under 18 years of age, their parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms and Conditions on their behalf.

7. Photography and Media Release

  • Participant grants permission to the Released Parties to use any photographs, videos, or other media taken during the Activities for promotional or marketing purposes without compensation.

8. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Minnesota.

9. Acknowledgment of Understanding

  • By checking the box below, Participant confirms they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions, including the Safety Waiver and Release of Liability.
  • Participant acknowledges this waiver is binding and irrevocable.
